12/02/2010 – New standard civil contracts to start on 14 October 2010
The Legal Services Commission (LSC) has announced that the new standard civil contracts will start from 14 October 2010 and has made some 'minor amendments' to the standard contract terms prior to the social welfare bidding process opening in the week beginning 22 February 2010.
The changes to the standard terms and the contract for signature include:
- clarifying the rules on termination of a contract in relation to consortium arrangements;
- confirming that the contract for signature and the schedule of work can besent to providers electronically;
- clarified that where LSC online is not available for providers to send information, the provider must inform the LSC that it is not available and send the information by fax, post or 'reasonable electronic method'; and
- removing the reference to sub-contracting in the contract for signature.
The bidding closes in the week beginning 19 April 2010.
