LASA policy

Lasa undertakes policy work on issues that affect the provision of advice and legal services. The Policy and Information team:

  • advises on policy changes
  • publishes reports, discussion papers and briefings
  • responds to central, regional and local government consultations, such as the current consultation on community cohesion
  • promotes the value of advice work to government and funders
  • liaises with advice organisations, the wider voluntary sector, researchers and policy makers
  • generates debate between organisations via seminars, publications etc.

Lasa undertakes small to medium sized research, evaluation and feasibility studies (circa 10-30 day commissions) to assist agencies in their monitoring and evaluation requirements. We can either help you to develop the various resources you need to undertake the evaluation on your own, work jointly with you throughout all phases of the project, or be commissioned to undertake the evaluation ourselves. We offer help on:

  • Designing surveys and project evaluation tools
  • Monitoring your outcomes, outputs and effectiveness
  • Facilitating User Groups and Participatory evaluations.

Rightsnet Policy Area

The policy area of our rightsnet site provides the latest policy and funding news, summaries of key research, details of government consultations, and more.

The rightsnet policy area is designed to assist organisations in making the case for independent advice provision to policy makers and funders; to help to raise the profile of advice on strategic initiatives, for example in relation to regeneration and health; to highlight strategies affecting the provision of advice; and to improve awareness of advice policy issues amongst government, funders and the wider voluntary sector.
