The next London Advice Support Forum meeting will be on Thursday 30th June, at 2pm prompt, at the Resource Centre, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA. (nearest tube: Holloway Road). Directions on how to get there can be found here
The Advice Support Forum meets quarterly, bringing together welfare rights advisors from voluntary sector organisations across London working with different client communities, enabling them to share, learn and develop their welfare benefits advice and representation skills and knowledge by learning from each other.
The topic for discussion is new conditionality and sanctions regime for Jobseekers.
As a way in to the discussion, the first part of the meeting will consist of a film on the workfare scheme in the United States, and the second part of the meeting will be a compare and contrast this with the current proposals for the UK.
Martin Williams, CPAG, will lead this discussion. Martin is a welfare rights worker in CPAG's Citizens' Rights Office and an author of CPAG's Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit Legislation
