20/04/2011 – Demonstrating your impact with digital storytelling
Digital storytelling (DS) using digital tools, such as audio slideshows, is a powerful and low cost way for organisations to demonstrate their impact. Recently, as part of our ongoing work to help third sector organisations use technology to support their work, Lasa ran an evening workshop in partnership with SoundDelivery to provide practical advice and case studies of digital storytelling in practice.
The event was attended by over 30 people from a range of organisations including faith based, environmental, CVS based, and youth. Participants told us that they got a lot out of it. Nearly all said they were going to go off and start using their learning from the event to tell the stories of the great work their organisations do. Typical comments included:
- "Will start to use DS on blog, website etc." All Living Things
- "Consider using DS for case studies" Refugee Council
- "Have project in mind to apply DS to" Liz Nightingale
- "Directly in my work tomorrow!" Christian Solidarity Worldwide
- "Telling stories for annual report & impact reporting" Christian Solidarity Worldwide
- "Perhaps run similar session for local groups" Superhighways
- "May use to tell our case studies in different way"Changemakers
