LASA Circuit rider project

Lasa Circuit Rider Project 2002 - 2004

Introduction
Lasa's first Circuit Rider Project ran from September 2002 to August 2004. Funded by the Community Fund, 19 London-based member organisations, selected mainly from the Migrant Organisations Development Agency (MODA) and AdviceUK, networks were helped to develop their ICT capacity using the circuit riding model. Project members "signed-up" to an 18 month programme overseen by a steering committee which provided:

  • an initial site visit consisting of IT Healthcheck, consultation on strategy and project plans;
  • assistance with immediate IT problems;
  • development of individual recommendations and action plans;
  • periodic follow up visits;
  • training sessions and seminars;
  • a subscription to Lasa’s computanews including Guides;
  • a telephone and email help-line, this dedicated website and a private email discussion list.
This website was developed to reflect the ongoing work of the project and was aimed at the project participants and other small voluntary organisations who could benefit from this type of support model.
