17/09/2010 – New beginnings

I am delighted to be Lasa’s new Chief Executive. As some of you might know, I have taken over from Andy Gregg, who served as Chief Executive since 2004.

So, here’s a little bit about me. For many years, I’ve worked in public and third sector organisations across the UK. I’ve been at Lasa since 1998, first as project manager of Rightsnet, now regarded as the UK’s leading source of online welfare rights information, then as Director of Services from 2003.

This is an exciting but challenging time to be a new CEO in the third sector. I’m as worried about funding as the next charity sector professional. But if we are to survive, we have to view every threat as an opportunity. My staff and I remain thoroughly committed to strengthening the support that third sector organisations and government bodies across the UK require in challenging times.

My job is to lead Lasa’s vision of helping as many charities and government bodies as possible access the support they need from us so urgently. My experience in these sectors has taught me that many of these organisations are unaware of the support available from our own sector. If you’d like to know how we could help you, do drop me a line.
